School Climate Surveys

The Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ (Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ) conducts a survey of students, parents or guardians and staff every two years as required by the . The school climate survey helps to:

  • Assess school safety
  • Build and sustain a positive school climate
  • Determine program effectiveness

The results from the survey help Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ plan for and promote safety, equity and inclusion at all schools.

2023-2024 School Climate Survey

The Student Surveys will be open from Monday May 27th – Thursday June 27th, 2024.

The surveys are divided for grades 4 to 6, grades 7 to 8, and for grades 9 to 12.  The survey contains approximately 30 questions and should take 15 minutes to complete.  

 The Parent/Guardian/Community Surveys will be open from Monday May 27th – Friday June 28th, 2024.

 The Staff Survey will be open from Monday May 27th – Friday June 28th, 2024.

2019 climate survey results

In 2019, 83.5% of elementary and 63.8% of secondary school students completed the climate survey. The survey offered the following results:

  • 90% of students felt welcome (of the 10% that did not feel welcome, 38% noted appearance was the reason they don't feel welcome)
  • 74.7% reporting having one caring adult at school and 50% indicated that they would ask for mental health help at school
  • 81% of students have not experienced bullying
  • 52.6% reported they are able to calm themselves down when they feel stressed
  • 29% indicate that they spend five hours (or more) on an electronic device on school days (11% indicated they spend eight hours on an electronic device)
  • 29% of students stated that they exercise for 60 minutes every day
  • 44% indicated that they worry too much
  • 27% stated that they are getting the required amount of sleep
